Musica per la radio

MUSIC FOR THE RADIO

is meant to be a project in constant evolution, a work in perpetual adaptation, because radio is transforming over time, adapting to new technologies and new ways of listening in society. Its main foundation has led us to explore and perceive the dimensions of what could be specific music for radio. We continue to weave connections to structure a clearer, and perhaps, universal concept.

The music broadcast on the radio is but an essence of music. It renounces the shows and visual games present in live concerts. In the middle of a musical phrase, a sudden silence in front of the microphone takes on a particular psychological value, specific to the radiophonic universe. The deeper the silence, the more you hear things, down to the buzzing of your own ears.

MUSIC ON THE RADIO

Music, fragmented, inserts itself into the fabric of everyday life and tends to accompany, rather than replace, daily activities. Music on the radio serves as a background sound and should support an already existing structure, leaving space for discussion, other sounds, and other sonic events. It is an accompanying music that is not intrusive, allowing other elements to exist.

MEDIA VS. ART

We must think of the radio not only as a means of broadcasting, but as an instrument in itself, and deeply consider how a specific music for this instrument can exist. It is necessary to view the radio not only as a medium but also as an art.
